The Deputy Program Director supports the Program Director in overseeing the development and
delivery of Qajuqturvik Community Food Centre (QCFC)’s programming. This role ensures continuity
of operations when the Program Director is unavailable and helps maintain program consistency,
quality, and alignment with QCFC’s mission.
The Deputy Program Director contributes to coordination, staff support, program evaluation, and
ensures compliance with internal policies and labour standards.
Overall Responsibilities:
● Ensure programs run consistently and meet QCFC’s quality standards
● Support Coordinators in planning, delivering, and evaluating programs
● Monitor program budgets in collaboration with leadership
● Assist with implementing and overseeing evaluation tools to track program performance
● Maintain organized program data collection and reporting systems
● Participate in annual performance evaluations for Program Coordinators
● Provide ongoing support to staff to help achieve professional development goals
● Support compliance with Nunavut Labour Standards and QCFC policies
● Participate actively in management and staff meetings
● Demonstrate positive conduct with staff, participants, and community partners
● Promote a culture of health and safety across the organization
● Uphold and represent QCFC values in all internal and external engagements
Perform additional related duties as needed
● Minimum 1 year of experience in program coordination or management
● Knowledge of program evaluation methods and budgeting
● Familiarity with community-based or food justice work is an asset
● Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset
● Knowledge of the issues related to QCFC’s mandate
● Proven track record of strong, compassionate leadership
● Exceptional ability to foster a collaborative culture with leadership, staff, and the Board of
Directors
● Strong writing and communication skills
● Experience living and working in Nunavut is a strong asset
● Fluency in Inuktitut is a strong asset
● Experience working in the food services industry is an asset
● Experience working with vulnerable populations is an asset
● Other lived experiences, education, and skills will be considered in lieu of formal education
and related work experience

of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement, preference will be given to Inuit applicants.

● Subject to high pace and multitasking demands
● $100,000 to $110,000 per year
